Our Teachers
OUR TEACHERS ARE THE HEART OF OUR PRESCHOOL
Each teacher brings a deep love for children, a passion for early education, and a genuine dedication to nurturing every child’s unique potential. With love and patience, they create joyful classrooms where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn every day.
Addie Smith – Preschool Director
My name is Addie Smith, and I am the director of St. Mark’s Preschool. I graduated from Benedictine College with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I spent nine years teaching at Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas and one year teaching at St. Agnes in St. Paul. This is my second year as the director of St. Mark’s Preschool. I am passionate about Catholic Education and working with children and families at the beginning of their educational journey. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, hiking, party planning, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to working with your family!
Terry Lewis – Star Room Teacher
My name is Terry Lewis, and I am the lead teacher in the Star room. I’ve been at St. Mark’s school for over 18 years and working in Catholic preschools for over 11 years. I enjoy reading, gardening, walking outdoors, and spending time with my three children.
Shannon Norris – Rainbow Room Teacher
My name is Shannon Norris, and I teach in the 4 and 5-year-old Rainbow Room. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double major in Elementary Education and Science and Math for Elementary Educators (SMEE). This will be my 20th year working at St. Mark’s. I began here in 2005, teaching middle school math and religion for three years. When my first child was born in the spring of 2008, I became a full time stay at home mom. St. Mark’s, however, is such a wonderful place that I couldn’t stay away for long! In the Spring of 2009, I began substitute teaching. After 12 years as a substitute, I began to work full time at St. Mark’s Preschool in 2021.
I am excited to work with your children! Their smiles, curiosity, joy, and love of learning are such a blessing. We do so many things each day, but my favorites are praying, singing songs, reading books, playing outside, and early math and literacy activities. My husband and I have four sons, ages 10 to 17. I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and reading. I look forward to the possibility of working with your child!
